CHILD SAFETY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WARRNING – CURTAIN & BLIND CORDS HAVE CAUSED THE DEATH OF YOUNG CHILDREN AND MUST BE INSTALLED SO THAT THEY ARE NOT A STRANGULATION HAZARD. FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.

To avoid creating a possible strangulation hazard for children, the corded internal window covering must be installed in such a way that a loose cord cannot form a loop 220mm or longer at a height of less than 1600mm above floor level.
A cord guide may be installed lower that 1600mm above floor level if the cord is sufficiently secured or tensioned to prevent a loop220mm or longer from being formed.
If a cord guide is installed lower than 1600mm above floor level it must be designed to prevent a child from being able to remove the cord.
If a cleat is used to secure the cord, it must be at least 1600mm above floor level because a child is capable of unwinding a cord from a cleat.

Installation:

  1. Pass the cord and/or chain trough the bottom of the cord/chain safe device.
  2. Select the screw appropriate to the surface you are fixing to. (If we have provided you with the screw, it is for installation into the timber. If there is no screw provided, or if the provided screw is not appropriate for the type of surface you wish to install it into, you need to provide your own screw)
  3. Pull down with light tension until cord and/or chain cannot form a loop of 220mm or longer at the height of less than 1600mm above floor level.
  4. Screw cord/chain safe device into place.

Please Note: All International made blinds will be delivered to your nominated delivery address with "Authority to leave if no one is at home" otherwise known as "Authority to leave if Unattended". If you don't want this to happen, please nominate the address, at the time of purchase, where you are certain that someone will be there to accept delivery of your order. If you are not at home or if there is no one to accept delivery of your order, the driver should leave your blinds order in the safest and most sheltered place and if possible a photo proof of delivery would be taken. If blinds are left unattended and not signed for, as there was no one to accept delivery, we will not accept responsibility or claims for any damages that blinds could have sustained while they were left there unattended or if they get stolen after being delivered to your nominated place of delivery.

DAWN 89mm

Dawn Vertical Blinds in 89mm slat size are made using the same Dawn fabric just here they are offered with a narrower slats width of 89mm. They are a popular choice for smaller recesses or if you just like that thinner vertical blind look. Dawn 89mm vertical blinds are also made with premium quality LOUVOLITE Slimline Vogue headrail and they are available with the same number of fabric, headrail and chain colour options.

Delivery Time:

Currently, our delivery time is slightly longer than usual and it stands at 10 - 15 working days for the blinds to be manufactured + delivery travel time to your location.

Please Note: Delivery times are not the same for all Australian locations. Some customers may experience a few extra working days of delivery delay due to their geographical location.

Maintenance Info:

Remove surface dust by regularly dusting with a feather duster or soft cloth. Stains or smudges can be removed by wiping with a sponge soaked in lukewarm water containing a little neutral soap and then sponged with fresh water and dried gently with a clean towel. Small marks can be removed by a light rub with an art gum rubber. Never use abrasive or solvent based cleaners, and never roll up a blind which is damp.

Note: Vertical Blinds INSIDE MOUNT measurements will have a little size reduction once you order them. 10mm will be taken from the width and 10mm from the drop as this is to ensure the smooth and uninterrupted movement of your blinds. In addition to this, your OUTSIDE MOUNT measurements will have 10mm drop size reduction if they are to be fitted on a door or a window that has a protruding sill. This is the factory standard. Order blinds in a width larger than your window so slats stack discretely to the side
