CHILD SAFETY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING – CURTAIN & BLIND CORDS HAVE CAUSED THE DEATH OF YOUNG CHILDREN AND MUST BE INSTALLED SO THAT THEY ARE NOT A STRANGULATION HAZARD. FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.

To avoid creating a possible strangulation hazard for children, the corded internal window covering must be installed in such a way that a loose cord cannot form a loop 220mm or longer at the height of less than 1600mm above floor level.
A cord guide may be installed lower that 1600mm above floor level if the cord is sufficiently secured or tensioned to prevent a loop220mm or longer from being formed.
If a cord guide is installed lower than 1600mm above floor level, it must be designed to prevent a child from being able to remove the cord.
If a cleat is used to secure the cord, it must be at least 1600mm above floor level because a child is capable of unwinding a cord from a cleat.

Installation:

  1. Pass the cord and/or chain trough the bottom of the cord/chain safe device.
  2. Select the screw appropriate to the surface you are fixing to. (If we have provided you with the screw, it is for installation into the timber. If there is no screw provided, or if the provided screw is not appropriate for the type of surface you wish to install it into, you need to provide your own screw)
  3. Pull down with light tension until cord and/or chain cannot form a loop of 220mm or longer at the height of less than 1600mm above floor level.
  4. Screw the cord/chain safe device into place.

If you are not at home or if there is no one to accept delivery of your order, the driver should leave your blinds order in the safest and most sheltered place and if possible a photo proof of delivery would be taken. If blinds are left unattended and not signed for, as there was no one to accept delivery, we will not accept responsibility or claims for any damages that blinds could have sustained while they were left there unattended or if they get stolen after being delivered to your nominated place of delivery.

Dawn Blockout Roller Blinds are manufactured right here in Australia. They are 100% blockout, and amongst all the standard fabric type blinds sold here on the Australian market, Dawn fabric is considered to be the best.

Dawn fabric is made from 100% polyester with durable acrylic coating. It has an excellent UV protection factor of 50+ and Greenguard Gold Certification due to the low level of chemical emission which significantly improves the quality of the air. Also, it is Anti-Static, Anti-Fade, as well as Mould and Mildew Protected. 

Componentry wise, our Dawn Roller Blinds are manufactured using Australian designed premium quality SUNBOSS chain drives, Australian made aluminium tubing and top of the line, premium quality, Hunter Douglas bottom rails.

Delivery Time:

Our pure manufacturing time for these blinds is 15 - 20 working days + delivery time. Once your order is dispatched, the delivery will usually take between 1 - 5 working days, depending on your location.

Please Note: Delivery times are not the same for all Australian locations. Some customers may experience a few extra working days of delivery delay due to their geographical location.

Maintenance Info:

Remove surface dust by regularly dusting with a feather duster or soft cloth. Stains or smudges can be removed by wiping with a sponge soaked in lukewarm water containing a little neutral soap and then sponged with fresh water and dried gently with a clean towel. Small marks can be removed by a light rub with an art gum rubber. Never use abrasive or solvent based cleaners, and never roll up a blind which is damp.

Note: Roller Blind measurements are “PIN to PIN” which means from the outer edge of the left bracket to the outer edge of the right bracket. As a result of this, your blind fabric will be up to 2cm narrower on each side than the blind width ordered, and you will have a little bit of light entering the room through these little gaps on the sides. This is a characteristic of the roller blinds design, and it is standard for all roller blinds across the window furnishing industry. All roller blinds will have additional fabric to make sure the tube is not exposed when unrolled completely. This will also prevent the separation of the material from the tube. To reduce the amount of light that enters your room, please consider ordering your blinds as an outside mount.
